Snow Storm Preparation: Mayor Bowser Comments: 01/21

Date Released:
Fri, 01/22/2016

Before we discuss tomorrow’s snow event, I want to talk about last night’s snow. To be frank, we did not have adequate resources deployed to ensure that the commute home was as smooth as it should have been. We should have been better prepared. Our city has a responsibility to residents and visitors to deliver essential services every day. Last night, we failed to meet that goal – and for that, I am sorry. And now, we are focused on preparing for Friday’s blizzard. We were just briefed by the National Weather Service.
