DOEE Announces $95,000 of Funding Available for Monitoring Program for Trash in the District's Waterbodies

WASHINGTON, DC – April 12, 2016 — The Department of Energy and Environment (DOEE) seeks eligible entities to develop and implement a monitoring program for trash in the District's waterbodies.  DOEE is interested in innovative methods for monitoring trash conditions.  The results from this project will help assess the effectiveness of the District’s efforts to reduce trash in local waterbodies and guide future efforts to reduce trash. The amount available for the project is approximately $95,000.00. 

Eligible entities include:

  • Nonprofit organizations, including those with IRS 501(c)(3) determinations;
  • Government agencies;  and
  • Universities / educational institutions

Interested parties can access the RFA through any of the following means:

  • Download a copy

The deadline for application submissions is May 9, 2016 at 4:30 p.m.  Five hard copies must be submitted to the above address and a complete electronic copy must be emailed to [email protected].
