District property owners who install landscaping projects that reduce and/or treat stormwater runoff from impervious surfaces on their property are eligible for a rebate. Common landscaping projects that help reduce stormwater runoff from impervious surfaces are: rain gardens, replacement of impervious surface with vegetation, and replacement of impervious surface with permeable pavers.
DOEE offers two rebate programs for landscaping projects that treat stormwater runoff from impervious surfaces:
Rain Garden Rebate Program: $3 per square foot of impervious surface treated, with a maximum rebate of $2,200
Permeable Surface Rebate Program: When determining which is most suitable for your home, it is helpful to consider the characteristics of your property and how you plan to use the space. The rebate process and amounts are determined by project type and are issued as a direct reimbursement to homeowners once the project is completed, inspected, and approved.
