The first energy and water benchmarking deadline was April 1, 2013. All buildings over 100,000 gross square feet that have not yet reported are out of compliance. Failure to comply by August 30, 2013 will result in DDOE issuing a Notice of Violation. If the violation is still not corrected within 30 days of the mailing of the Notice of Violation, you may be fined of up to $100 per day until the violation is corrected.
DDOE mailed reminder letters to all non-compliant buildings on June 28, 2013; letters were sent to both building address and to the address of record for the building’s owner. This is a sample of such a letter.
