Notice of Public Comment on Wildlife Action Plan

Friday, July 31, 2015

DDOE is soliciting comments on a Draft Wildlife Action Plan. DDOE is required by Congress (Department of the Interior and Related Agencies Appropriations Act of 2002 [Title I, Public Law 107-63]) to update the District of Columbia’s Wildlife Action Plan every 10 years and to make this plan available for public review and comment. The plan must also be approved by the director of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.

In accordance with this requirement, DDOE has developed a Draft District of Columbia Wildlife Action Plan, also available by contacting (202) 741-0840. A formal notice of public comment will be published in the DC Register.

Questions on the Draft Wildlife Action Plan should be directed to Damien Ossi at [email protected] or (202) 741-0840.

Public Comment
Comments on the draft plan must be filed in writing no later than 30 days after the publication of the formal notice in the DC Register. Comments should be clearly marked “Wildlife Action Plan” and either (1) mailed or hand-delivered to DDOE, Fisheries and Wildlife Division, 1200 First Street NE, 5th Floor, Washington, DC  20002, Attention: Wildlife Action Plan, or (2) emailed to [email protected].
