The Department of Energy and Environment (the Department) is submitting for public review and comment the Draft Revised Green Area Ratio (GAR) Guidebook.  The guidebook provides clarification for the development community and District residents to comply with the regulation.  Additional forms and documents that support administration of the regulation are provided for reference. The public is invited to present its comments in written format and at a public hearing on proposed revisions to the Draft revisions.

All persons present at the hearing who wish to be heard may testify in person. All presentations shall be limited to five minutes. Persons are urged to submit duplicate copies of their written statements.  Persons may also submit written comments by email, with a subject line of “GAR Guidebook” to the attention of Markku McGlynn at [email protected]. Comments clearly marked “GAR Guidebook” may also be hand delivered or mailed to the Department’s offices at the address listed above. All comments should be received no later than the conclusion of business on Monday, October 10, 2016. The Department will consider all comments received in its final decision.
