On November 17, 2017, DOEE issued a public notice soliciting comments on a draft version of the permit. Comments were accepted through December 18, 2017. A public hearing on the matter was held on December 18, 2017 at the Southwest Public Library, 900 Wesley Place SW. The public comment period was subsequently extended through January 5, 2018.
During the public comment period, DOEE received 23 sets of written comments. There were 28 attendees at the public hearing, of whom 11 offered verbal testimony.
DOEE has considered each of the comments received and has prepared responses to them. The comments resulted in a number of changes to the language in the draft permit.
