PUBLIC NOTICE
On Friday, September 27, 2019, the Air Quality Division (AQD) of the Department of Energy and Environment (DOEE) issued a source category air quality permit (No. 7043-SC-R1) covering most stationary natural gas-fired emergency engines subject to New Source Performance Standards (NSPS) Subpart JJJJ (40 CFR §60, Subpart JJJJ) in the District of Columbia. This permit was issued pursuant to 20 DCMR § 200.6.
On August 23, 2019, DOEE issued a public notice soliciting comments on a draft version of the permit and its associated application form. Comments were accepted through September 23, 2019.
AQD received one comment on a related permit during the public comment period which was considered related to this permit as well.
DOEE has considered this comment and has prepared a response. A summary of the comment and the associated response can be found in the attachments section below. The comment resulted in the addition of flexibility in acceptable record keeping methods.
