Notice of Public Comment on Draft MS4 Catch Basin Maintenance Optimization Plan

DDOE is soliciting comments on a draft MS4 Report on Optimal Catch Basin Cleaning, Inspection and Repair.  The Permit for the District’s Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System (MS4) requires the District to develop a plan to evaluate and optimize the District’s program for cleaning, inspection, and maintenance for all catch basins which collect stormwater from within the District’s MS4, and to make this plan available for public review and comment.  In accordance with this requirement, DDOE and DC Water have developed a draft Catch Basin Optimization Plan (available electronically below or by contacting (202) 741-2136). A formal notice of public comment was published in the July 5, 2013 edition of the D.C. Register.

Questions on the draft Catch Basin Optimization Plan should be directed to Jonathan Champion at [email protected] or (202) 535-1722.

Public Comment

Comments on the draft plan must be filed in writing no later than 30 days after the publication of the formal notice in the D. C. Register. Comments should be clearly marked “Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System (MS4) Permit Report on Optimal Catch Basin Cleaning, Inspection, and Repair” and either (1) mailed or hand-delivered to DDOE, Stormwater Management Division, 1200 First Street, N.E., 5th Floor, Washington, DC  20002, Attention: Catch Basin Optimization Plan, or (2) emailed to [email protected].
