The Department of Energy and Environment (DOEE) is excited to release an initial version of the comprehensive energy plan called Clean Energy DC for consideration of the public.

A companion to Climate Ready DC, Clean Energy DC provides tools for fighting climate change and meeting key energy and climate goals of Sustainable DC.  Importantly, Clean Energy DC shows how we can cut greenhouse gas emissions by 50% by 2032 from the 2006 level, while simultaneously cutting energy use and increasing renewable energy through innovative measures.  Clean Energy DC is an innovative plan that marries bold vision with pragmatism.

The initial version of Clean Energy DC was peer-reviewed in September 2016, and is now made available for consideration of the public.  Clean Energy DC is intended to serve as a living document and will be updated and modified regularly and as needed.  DOEE will engage the public extensively for dialogue and education on the plan, and will update the plan based on the dialogue.
