WASHINGTON, DC, March 9, 2018 — The Department of Energy and Environment (DOEE) is pleased to announce it has selected a new grantee, Designgreen, LLC, to administer the agency’s signature green roof incentive program, RiverSmart Rooftops. Designgreen, LLC is a small, woman-owned ecological engineering firm, located in the District.
"Green roofs are a key technology for the District as we work toward our Sustainable DC goal to be the greenest, healthiest, most livable city in the nation,” said DOEE Director Tommy Wells, “and I’m proud that our RiverSmart Rooftops program has helped make one million of the three million square feet of green roof in the District possible.”
RiverSmart Rooftops promotes voluntary installations of green roofs in the District. Participating property owners can receive up to $15 per square foot for eligible projects. Projects are funded on a first-come, first-served basis, and DOEE is now accepting inquires and applications; click here to learn more or apply.
