Notice of Funding Availability – 2019 Green Zone Environmental Program – Watershed Protection Projects

Due to snow closure, the pre-application meeting has been rescheduled for this Thursday, January 17, 2019 at 1:00PM. 

The in-person informational meeting will be conducted at 1200 First Street NE, Washington, DC 20002. Participants will come to the 5th floor and be escorted to the meeting room.

DOEE seeks eligible entities to provide education, training, and hands-on activities to participants in the Green Zone Environmental Program (GZEP). The amount available for this grant announcement is approximately $80,000. An applicant can request up to $20,000. DOEE plans to make multiple awards. Projects should focus on improving water quality and, in particular, reducing the impacts of stormwater runoff on District water bodies. Additionally, these projects should provide GZEP participants with entry-level skills in the green economy.

Beginning January 4, 2019, the full text of the Request for Applications (RFA) will be available on the Department’s website. A person may obtain a copy of this RFA by any of the following means:

The deadline for application submissions is February 15, 2019, at 4:30 p.m. Five hard copies must be submitted to the above address OR a complete electronic copy must be e-mailed to [email protected] for receipt by that time.

Eligibility:

The following institutions may apply for these grants:

  • Nonprofit organizations, including those with IRS 501(c)(3) or 501(c)(4) determinations;
  • Faith-based organizations;
  • Government agencies;
  • Universities/educational institutions; and
  • Private Enterprises.
