Collin Burrell, Deputy Director, Environmental Services Administration
Collin Burrell currently serves as Deputy Director for the Environmental Services Administration (ESA), District of Columbia Department of Energy and Environment. In this capacity he oversees the core function of ESA to protect public health and the environment by regulating and ensuring compliance with applicable laws related to air quality, hazardous waste, underground storage of petroleum products, lead, pesticides, rail safety and emergency management. Collin has over thirty years of experience in executive leadership, management, and supervision of various environmental programs within the Department. Prior to his current position, Collin serves as Associate Director for the agency’s Water Quality as well as the Inspection and Enforcement Divisions. Among his many accomplishments, Collin Co-chaired the Agency Transition Team responsible for developing the transition plan when the department was created.
Collin earned a M.S. degree from the University of Maryland, College Park, a B.S degree from North Carolina A & T State University, and a Certificate in Executive Leadership and Management Program, George Washington University Center for Excellence in Municipal Management.
