Public Benchmarking Report - DGS FY09-12

Friday, January 18, 2013

On January 18, 2013, the District Department of the Environment (DDOE) and the Department of General Services (DGS) released updated energy benchmarking results for over 200 of the District government facilities managed by DGS, with new or updated results for fiscal years 2009 through 2012. Among other findings, the results reveal that eleven DC Public Schools may be eligible for ENERGY STAR certification because of their energy efficiency efforts.

This report is the result of intensive collaboration between DGS, DDOE, and the DC Sustainable Energy Utility (DC SEU). DGS manages most, but not all, District properties. A more detailed and comprehensive report of the energy efficiency of all District properties over 10,000 square feet will be released later in 2013.
