DOEE Announces $250,000 of Funding Available for Sustainable Development Planning & Ananysis for the District

WASHINGTON, DC – March 7, 2016 — The Department of Energy and Environment (DOEE) is seeking eligible entities to help the District meet the green building goals set out in the Mayor's Sustainable DC Plan. This RFA is intended to support innovative, out-of-box planning and architectural solutions to achieve these goals.  Using the guiding principles of the International Living Future Institute’s (ILFI) Living Community ChallengeTM, DOEE is looking to elevate best practices and provide the technical assistance needed to realize truly sustainable development projects. Successful planning strategies should include designs that incorporate net-positive energy, zero water, zero waste, and equitable development.  The amount available for the project in this RFA is approximately $250,000.00 with up to $50,000 available in year one of the project. This amount is subject to continuing availability of funding and approval by the appropriate agencies.

Eligible entities include:

  • Nonprofit organizations, including those with IRS 501(c)(3) determinations;
  • Faith –based organizations;
  • Government agencies;
  • Universities / educational institutions; and 
  • Private enterprises 

Interested parties can access the RFA through any of the following means:
