Final Air Quality Source Category Permit 7048-SC-R1 to Construct and Operate Stationary Diesel-Fired Emergency Engines Subject to NSPS Subpart IIII

On Friday, September 27, 2019, the Air Quality Division (AQD) of the Department of Energy and Environment (DOEE) issued a source category air quality permit (No. 7048-SC-R1) covering most stationary diesel-fired emergency engines subject to New Source Performance Standards (NSPS) Subpart IIII (40 CFR §60, Subpart IIII) in the District of Columbia. This permit was issued pursuant to 20 DCMR § 200.6.

On August 23, 2019, DOEE issued a public notice soliciting comments on a draft version of the permit and its associated application form. Comments were accepted through September 23, 2019.

AQD received one comment during the public comment period.

DOEE has considered this comment and has prepared a response. A summary of the comment and the associated response can be found in the attachments section below. The comment resulted in the addition of flexibility in acceptable record keeping methods.
