The Department of Energy and Environment (the Department) seeks eligible entities to assist in achieving its goal of reducing the energy costs for the District of Columbia’s households by increasing the energy efficiency of their dwelling, while ensuring their health and safety. The energy and healthy homes services are provided free of charge to qualifying households. To deliver services, DOEE provides grants to grantees, which are responsible for performing improvements and upgrades. A successful applicant will assist DOEE in achieving this purpose by installing approved energy efficiency measures in low-income households and providing energy and healthy homes related information to occupants. The amount available is approximately $3,000,000 per year and may be extended up to three years with additional funding.
