Recreational Angling Records Program

<< Back to Fishing in the District main page

DOEE’s new and improved Recreational Angling Records Program provides anglers with the opportunity to apply for record status for 29 different fish species found in the waters of the District of Columbia. If an angler’s record submission is weighed-in and certified, they will receive a custom-printed District of Columbia Angling Record Certificate.

In addition to Angling Record Certificates, DOEE also offers Trophy Fish Award Certificates (photo entry length certificates).

All records based on weight; all lengths considered unofficial. All potential record fish must be weighed in at the Aquatic Resources Education Center in Anacostia Park. Please see Official Rules section below for further details, including weight and length minimums.

For questions, and to report your significant angling achievement(s), contact Fisheries Research Branch Chief Dillon Waters at [email protected].
