DC CMWA/DDOE 2013 MLK Jr. Day - Environmental Restoration

The DDOE Fisheries and Wildlife Division invite you to participate in an upcoming MLK Day environmental event that we are co-sponsoring with the DCCooperative Weed Management Area.  We look forward to engaging citizens East of the River (at nearby Kingman Island) and throughout the District at other sites.The MLK Jr. Day event on Saturday, January 19th, 2012 will take place at various sites within the District including DC parkland and national parks. In honor/service of MLK Jr. Day, we will be engaging volunteers in environmental restoration/invasive removal with training and tools provided.

 

Some partners and sites include the Student Conservation Association, the National Arboretum, the National Park Service, Living Classrooms of DC, Washington Area Bicyclist Association, and UDC-Cooperative Extension Service.
 
The event at Kingman Island is a major volunteer event sponsored the Student Conservation Association. Interested participants should register here.
