Training Sessions on 2013 Stormwater Management Rule and Guidebook

Below is a schedule for public training sessions related to the finalized 2013 Rule on Stormwater Management and Soil Erosion and Sediment Control (2013 SW Rule) and the 2013 Stormwater Management Guidebook (2013 SWMG), which provides technical guidance on how to comply with the rule. DOEE is committed to ensuring that interested stakeholders have the opportunity to participate in training sessions and will continue to add to the below schedule based on stakeholder and public interest in additional trainings. Unless otherwise noted, all trainings are hosted at DOEE headquarters located at 1200 First Street NE, conveniently located off the NoMa-Gallaudet U Metro station.

Training: General Compliance
Includes site and BMP design, use of off-site retention, and MEP process for PROW associated with parcel-based projects.

Training: Using the Stormwater Database
This training focuses on using the Stormwater Database in the submission process for DOEE review of Stormwater Management Plans (SWMPs), Soil Erosion and Sediment Control (ESC) Plans, and Green Area Ratio (GAR) Plans, and for participation in the SRC and RiverSmart Rewards programs. The training includes an overview of database functions and exercises to enter mock plans and applications.

Training: Generation and Certification of Stormwater Retention Credits (SRCs) and Discounts on Stormwater Impervious Fees
This training focuses on the Stormwater Retention Credit (SRC) Trading Program, the SRC Purchase Program, RiverSmart Rewards Program, and submitting online applications through the Stormwater Database.

Training: Using the Stormwater Retention Credit (SRC) Financial Return Calculator
This training focuses on using the SRC Financial Return Calculator to help SRC Aggregators and property owners estimate potential SRC eligibility and return on investment for runoff-reducing green infrastructure projects. The tool can calculate potential SRC eligibility whether a user has high-level or granular project details. The training includes an overview of calculator functions and an exercise to enter a hypothetical project. Attendance of the Generation and Certification of Stormwater Retention Credits (SRCs) and Discounts on Stormwater Impervious Fees training is a prerequisite.

The Department of Energy & Environment offers free training seminars on the GAR. Each seminar provides an overview of the GAR, the plan submittal process, the Guidebook, and the role of the Certified Landscape Expert.
