DOEE seeks an eligible entity that, will (1) enhance, expand, and implement the current Community Stormwater Solutions Grant Program, (2) support the positive environmental efforts of District-based small businesses, nonprofits, faith-based organizations, and educational institutions, (3) protect and enhance, directly or indirectly, the District of Columbia’s water bodies and watersheds, and (4) support the District’s emerging green economy, environmental start-ups, and social entrepreneurs through capacity-building initiatives like grant writing and management trainings. Since 2016, DOEE has awarded 41 Community Stormwater Solutions Grants totaling $764,627, in grants that never exceed $20,000. This is an average of 10 small grants per year.
