Angling Instruction for Families

Anacostia River Family Fishing Days are free events held June-September by DOEE's Fisheries & Wildlife Division and their partners. DOEE, the Bureau of Land Management and FishingCommunity.org have partnered to provide equipment, bait and fishing instruction for families. Participants will also have the opportunity to visit the Aquatic Resources Education Center and take a guided tour lead by DOEE Fish & Wildlife biologists! Youth under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Participants between the ages 16 and 64 must purchase a DC Fishing License.

The events will take place along the banks of the Anacostia River in Anacostia Park, just outside of the Aquatic Resources Education Center and adjacent to the Skating Pavilion (see map). Additional directions are available on the National Park Service Anacostia Park website.
