DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA RECEIVES ‘SAFER CHOICE PARTNER OF THE YEAR’ AWARD FROM U.S. ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION AGENCY

WASHINGTON, DC, June 23, 2015—Yesterday, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) recognized the District of Columbia as a 2015 ‘Safer Choice Partner of the Year’ award winner for its outstanding achievement in the Purchasers and Distributors category.

2015 Architect of the Capitol - Senate Environmental & Energy Showcase



Look for the DDOE exhibit table as we take part in the 2015 AOC- Senate Environmental & Energy Showcase. The overlying theme for the showcase is simply Environmental and Energy conservation at home and in the office, highlighting various conservation measures implemented by the Senate Superintendent’s Office.  The subtheme is “We Recycle” showcasing various ways people can reduce, reuse and recycle at the Senate and at home; with a major focus on how Senate Superintendent staff members can work more efficiently and help the environment through recycling.

Reclaiming Our Rivers



What if the Anacostia and Potomac Rivers were clean enough for activities like fishing and swimming? The DDOE has numerous initiatives underway to reclaim our rivers for recreation and enjoyment. Come to a public meeting near you and find out about DDOE projects and programs to improve water quality in the Anacostia and Potomac Rivers. We'll also share information programs and incentives for residents. Find out how you can be involved!

What to bring: Please where long sleeves, long pants and closed toed shoes.  NO FLIP FLOPS or SANDALS!!! 

Please bring water or other thirst quenching beverage.  We will not be providing any food or drinks.

DDOE is seeking eligible entities, as defined below, to assist DDOE and other District policymakers with completing a Comprehensive Energy Plan (“CEP”) that specifies policies, programs, and technologies that will be necessary to address the District’s goals and priorities, and identifies barriers that would prevent their adoption.
