Save the Date: Kick-Off Workshop
This **FREE** Sustainable DC workshop will kick off the PICTURE THIS climate change photo contest.
Come learn how to take great photos with your camera or mobile phone and hear from community leaders who will speak on climate change in DC.
The photo contest runs from May 9 through July 12, 2015.
Capture images of climate change impacts and solutions to be eligible to win a prize!
The Family & Youth Casting Call is a FREE family fishing and environmental education event at Fletcher's Cove. Anglers will learn basic fishing skills while fishing in a stocked section pf the C & O canal and practice catch and release fishing. Partnering community organizations will share information on their programs and provide environmental education activities for the kids. All equipment and bait provided by DDOE. Youth must be accompanied by parents.

Request for Applications (“RFA”) for 2015 Green Resident Engagement for Housing Sector
The District Department of the Environment (“DDOE”) is seeking applications from eligible entities to meet the ambitious goals for recycling and energy and water efficiency set out in the District’s Sustainable DC Plan. The total amount of funding available for the two projects in this RFA is approximately $100,000.00. This amount is subject to availability of funding and approval by the appropriate agencies.

Plan to visit the DDOE exhibit table at the ‘Spring into Healthy Living Block Party’. The event will be divided into FIVE Health Zones, including an Environment Health Zone. All ages welcome; enjoy free food, haircuts, academic games and activities centered on nutritional, physical and environmental health.
Be sure to visit the DDOE exhibit table during the annual Broccoli City Festival. This main objective of this event is to make living healthy and more sustainably ‘cool’ in the urban community. The day will include music, fitness, food, vendors, art and more.
