Installing green infrastructure (GI) can have a range of environmental and financial benefits, including reducing your water bill, improving drainage, providing attractive landscaping and helping reduce pollution to the District’s rivers and streams. If GI meets program eligibility requirements, it may also be used to generate Stormwater Retention Credits (SRCs).

Many property owners choose to partner with an SRC-aggregating business that can install and maintain green infrastructure on your property, often at no cost to you (typically in exchange for the right to some or all of the SRCs that are generated).
