DOEE seeks an eligible entity or entities to partner with the Department on its application to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agencies (EPA) Air Quality Information: Making Sense of Air Pollution Data to Inform Decisions in Underserved Communities Overburdened by Air Pollution Exposures Funding Opportunity. The partner(s) will assist with conducting research and gathering air quality data, outreach to the community to help determine air sensor locations, communicate the collected data to the public, and teach the public to understand the data.
Come see one of our stationary monitors and learn a little about what our air quality monitoring team does every day! The Anacostia Freeway Near-Road monitoring station measures nitrogen dioxide, carbon monoxide and PM 2.5 and is right next to I-295. We’re opening it to the public and hope you can come visit!
At this meeting, DOEE will fill you in on what we’ve been doing this year, like recent rulemakings and the hypermobile monitoring project, and provide info on our current and upcoming activities.

The 2024 awards mark the 15th year the District has celebrated businesses, organizations, and individuals on the cutting edge of sustainability.
The Leadership Council for a Cleaner Anacostia River (LCCAR) meets quarterly to discuss and advise on the District's Anacostia River Sediment Project (ARSP). Assembled in September 2014, the Leadership Council consists of 22 high-level local, state, and federal government officials and environmental leaders who support the Mayor's vision for a fishable and swimmable Anacostia River.
DOEE will provide an overview of the new draft permit for Fort Myer Construction Corporation’s existing asphalt plant at 2001 5th Street NE, and how the requirements of this draft permit differ from the last permit. DOEE will also provide information on how District residents can provide public comment on the draft permit.
Real estate owner, developer, and environmental consultant agree to pay fine for alleged discharge of contaminated groundwater to the District’s storm sewer system and the Anacostia River.
