District Proposes New River-Protecting Stormwater Management Standards

(WASHINGTON, D.C.) The District Department of the Environment (DDOE) proposed a new regulatory framework for stormwater management by large development sites in the District of Columbia.  The new framework, containing requirements to dramatically reduce stormwater runoff’s harmful impacts to the Anacostia and Potomac Rivers, Rock Creek, and their tributaries, includes an innovative Stormwater Retention Credit (SRC) trading program, the first of its kind in the nation. 

District Issues Air Quality Permits for Cogeneration Equipment at the U.S. Capitol Power Plant

The District Department of the Environment (DDOE), effective today, issued four air quality permits to the Architect of the Capitol (AOC).  The permits allow the construction of cogeneration equipment and limit allowable plantwide emissions at the U.S. Capitol Power Plant (CPP) for the first time in its history.  It also clears the way for AOC to cease burning coal after the cogeneration plant is commissioned and operational.

Public Session to Respond to Clarifying Questions on DDOE’s Revised Stormwater Management Regulations and Guidebook

This public session is an opportunity for interested stakeholders to ask questions to clarify details of the revised Rulemaking on Stormwater Management and Soil Erosion and Sediment Control and the revised Stormwater Management Guidebook.

The meeting will be held at DDOE Headquarters, 1200 First Street NE. Please come to the 5th floor reception area and you will be escorted to the meeting room.
