Sustainable DC is holding a Twitter Town Hall meeting TOMORROW, July 31, from 3 to 4 pm. The meeting will focus on the four cross-cutting topics of health, education, jobs, and equity, and how each relates to sustainability. This information, along with feedback collected in our community conversations earlier this summer, will be used to help develop vision statements and goals for each topic.

District of Columbia’s Office on Aging (DCOA) has extended an invitation for DDOE to take part as they visit DC Senior Wellness Centers, congregate meal centers, and senior apartments to present “Seniors Going Green” and information on how DC agencies can provide valuable information, resources and services to our seniors. Accordingly - In partnership with DCOA - DDOE’s Sustainable DC staff members will host an informational exhibit table at a community event.
(Washington, DC) -- The District Department of the Environment (DDOE) recently launched the city’s first Healthy Homes program, designed to identify and assess environmental health threats to children and pregnant women and provide customized solutions to eliminate them. Through this program, DDOE will evaluate 100 hazardous homes with children, 18 years and under, who have been hospitalized with asthma, and an additional 100 homes with at-risk children or pregnant women.
